Thorpe Hall School Music Department dazzles audience with sold out James Bond concert

In December, the Thorpe Hall School Music Department presented a highly successful, sold out performance called ‘James Bond: Gold and Diamonds’.

Audience members were treated to a spectacular evening of excitement, music and festive sparkle as the school stepped into the glamorous world of James Bond. The carefully curated programme featured some of the most iconic songs from the Bond film series, spanning generations, from Shirley Bassey’s classic Goldfinger to more recent hits such as Skyfall by Adele and No Time to Die by Billie Eilish. All pieces were performed by Thorpe Hall School senior students.

The concert marked a particularly memorable occasion for the department and for the school’s new Head of Music, Ms Heidi Anderson, as it was her inaugural performance at Thorpe Hall School.

Throughout the evening, students impressed with confident vocal and instrumental performances, showcasing both their musical talent and the dedication they bring to their studies. Their work was further enhanced through collaboration with professional musicians, creating a polished and engaging performance.

Reflecting on the evening, Ms Anderson said:

“This performance perfectly reflects the standard of music-making we strive for at Thorpe Hall School. The students demonstrated exceptional focus, confidence and artistry, and it was a joy to see them collaborate with professional musicians to create such a memorable evening.”

The success of the concert highlights the strength of the Music Department and the opportunities available to students to perform, collaborate and excel on stage.
