As a fully inclusive, co-educational school, we are proud to celebrate our students’ excellent all-round achievements, and the enormous value we add to their learning, from Nursery to GCSE.
We challenge our pupils to outperform, whatever their ability. We seek out individual talents and actively encourage the best in everyone. At Thorpe Hall School, all students are motivated to enjoy a myriad of new and exciting opportunities and experiences. We pride ourselves on the individual attention we offer every child, whatever their age and whatever their needs.
Our mission is clear, our promise secure, and our commitment is genuine and unwavering. We are a school that listens, and every child’s voice is heard. Our open-door approach helps foster a refreshingly honest, active and forward-thinking school community.
This website will give you a first glimpse of the Thorpe Hall adventure, but the School is best experienced in person. You are most welcome to visit us for a tour of our School and a chat with our team.
We look forward to meeting your family.

Thorpe Hall School will be supporting Children's Mental Health Week this week with a whole range of activities planned across the school for all year groups.
The focus of this year is 'Let's Connect'. Human beings thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our wellbeing, and indeed our survival. Thorpe Hall is known for its wonderful sense of community - as one of our school values, it's at the heart of what we do. We have even won awards for our programme of support and the wellbeing initiatives we offer.
This week we're providing lots of fun ways for our students to feel even more connected, including:
🍏Mindful Munch - our very own Healthy Tuck Shop
🕺Let's Connect and Dance - a rolling Dance-athon every lunchtime in our Theatre
🎤Sing to the Music - We're getting those endorphins flowing and singing along with friends every lunchtime in the Music Room
♟Chess Challenge - students can come together to play in our chess tournament, every lunchtime in the Conference Room
🙂The THS 'Let's Connect' paper chain - students in all year groups will be writing their names on a 'link', which we'll use to create a giant THS paper chain.

What amazing performances we've been enjoying in our House Music and Prep Music competitions! We love the variety of instruments and styles, let alone the quality and talent, that we've seen. Our judges will have a hard time choosing winners in the finals later today - watch this space for updates!

This year's Annual Oscar's Evening was full of glitz and glamour as always, as we celebrated our Year 9's film studies projects.
Each year, our Year 9 Students spend the first term looking at how to create a short film, including script writing, storyboarding, character design and using an iPad as a video camera. In small groups, the students then fully plan and create their own short film, editing it on iMovies. The films are showcased to pupils and their families at our red carpet 'Oscars' evening; guests are asked to dress to impress, and all the films are shown on the big screen in our 200+ seater theatre.
Oscar trophies are awarded to the winning pupils in a variety of categories, and finally all guests are able to live-vote on 3 special categories which then receive extra awards at the end of the evening.
The winning film of the night based on live votes was: Behind the Eye
The winning film of the night based on student votes was: The Starved
Well done to everyone for the fantastic standard of film making - we hope to see more from those students who go on to take film studies at GCSE.
