Before the summer holidays, our (now) Year 11 Music students enjoyed a unique 'Day in the Life' experience at the Purcell School for Young Musicians, giving them an insight into life as a specialist music student.
During the visit, they took part in a composition workshop led by Alison Cox OBE, attended a lunchtime recital and concluded the day by watching a live performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, a work that features as part of their GCSE Music course.

Our Year 11 cohort have successfully completed a fantastic week of work experience, gaining valuable skills and insights into the world of work. We are so proud of everything they have achieved and can’t wait to welcome them back on Monday to begin their best year ever! 🎓✨

Abigail in Year 11 had an amazing week on her work experience placement at The Palace Theatre in Southend, where she got stuck into a fantastic range of activities.
This was an especially impressive achievement as there were just four placements available from more than 50 applicants. Abigail successfully secured her place through an application process and face-to-face interview, demonstrating real determination and commitment.
