As a fully inclusive, co-educational school, we are proud to celebrate our students’ excellent all-round achievements, and the enormous value we add to their learning, from Nursery to GCSE.
We challenge our pupils to outperform, whatever their ability. We seek out individual talents and actively encourage the best in everyone. At Thorpe Hall School, all students are motivated to enjoy a myriad of new and exciting opportunities and experiences. We pride ourselves on the individual attention we offer every child, whatever their age and whatever their needs.
Our mission is clear, our promise secure, and our commitment is genuine and unwavering. We are a school that listens, and every child’s voice is heard. Our open-door approach helps foster a refreshingly honest, active and forward-thinking school community.
This website will give you a first glimpse of the Thorpe Hall adventure, but the School is best experienced in person. You are most welcome to visit us for a tour of our School and a chat with our team.

Last week, the KS3 book club were absolutely thrilled to have a Zoom call with one of the Carnegie Yoto Prize judges, Charlotte Dormer.
Charlotte gave the book club excellent insights about the process of choosing a book for the prestigious prize and the students had the opportunity to ask her questions about how she got involved and how many books she had to read in preparation (over 100!). What’s more, our pupils have written reviews that have been published on the Carnegie website.

Apprenticeships. Yeah, let’s talk about them—not the boring, medieval-sounding version. I’m talking real-life Minecraft survival mode meets level-up system. While everyone else is stuck in a classroom, farming XP the slow way, you're out there with an actual tool in your hand, getting trained by the real pros. Not theory. Not "maybe someday." Real skills. Real pay. Real-world boss battles. It’s like spawning into a server and skipping the wooden pickaxe. You go straight to iron gear, start mining purpose, not just points. You're not just learning—you’re crafting. Grinding. Building. Stacking emeralds while others are still figuring out how to open their inventory. Apprenticeships are the OG skill tree. You pick a path—engineering, coding, construction, design, whatever—and level up with every day on the job. XP from doing, not just watching. And the mentors? Literal enchanted gear holders. They teach you how to power up. And yeah—you get paid while you do it. No student loan skeletons hiding in your closet later. Just coins in the bank and skills in your inventory. So while everyone else is stuck in spectator mode, hoping for their “real job” to magically appear, you're already in creative mode—but earned it legit. Apprenticeships aren’t old-school. They’re the smart grind. The fast track. The real-world respawn point for anyone tired of the same old loop. Start with tools. Leave with mastery. Build your world from the ground up. Now that’s a game worth playing.
