As a fully inclusive, co-educational school, we are proud to celebrate our students’ excellent all-round achievements, and the enormous value we add to their learning, from Nursery to GCSE.
We challenge our pupils to outperform, whatever their ability. We seek out individual talents and actively encourage the best in everyone. At Thorpe Hall School, all students are motivated to enjoy a myriad of new and exciting opportunities and experiences. We pride ourselves on the individual attention we offer every child, whatever their age and whatever their needs.
Our mission is clear, our promise secure, and our commitment is genuine and unwavering. We are a school that listens, and every child’s voice is heard. Our open-door approach helps foster a refreshingly honest, active and forward-thinking school community.
This website will give you a first glimpse of the Thorpe Hall adventure, but the School is best experienced in person. You are most welcome to visit us for a tour of our School and a chat with our team.
We look forward to meeting your family.

✨Staff Spotlight: Mrs Durban, our Preparatory School Head of Sport ✨
As part of our series celebrating the dedication and passion of the team across Thorpe Hall School, we are shining the spotlight on Mrs Durban, our Preparatory School Head of Sport.
Mrs Durban joined Thorpe Hall School in 2015 as a part-time hockey coach and now leads sport across the Preparatory School, inspiring pupils from Years 1 to 6 every single day.
“There is no typical week in the world of PE! I could be here, there or anywhere with any team… hockey, football, tennis!” 🏑⚽🎾
Passionate about helping every child discover a sport or activity they enjoy, Mrs Durban believes PE should always stand for “Positive Experience”. 💫
When asked what she loves most about Thorpe Hall School, she said: “What don’t I love? The passion and enthusiasm shown by the pupils, alongside the incredible support from parents and staff.”
Over the years, she has celebrated countless memorable moments, from pupils scoring their very first goal or hitting their first rounder, to helping THS achieve Sports School of the Year.
Students describe her as caring, passionate and honest, qualities that are felt both on and off the field.
💬 Outside of school, Mrs Durban enjoys playing hockey, long walks and relaxing in the garden with a good book. ... See MoreSee Less

Did you know? We fund an annual programme of curriculum based trips for every child - at no extra cost! ✨
At Thorpe Hall School, we believe school trips are an essential part of learning and school life.
That’s why every child in our Prep and Senior school is allocated a 'trips fund', which is used to cover the cost of a number of curriculum linked trips every year. This ensures every pupil has more opportunities to bring classroom learning to life through real world experiences.
Examples this year include trips to the Science Museum in London, Barleylands Farm Park, Science Live!, The Globe to watch Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Wat Tyler Country Park and many more!
These experiences help create lasting memories while enriching learning beyond the classroom. 👏 ... See MoreSee Less
