
The artistic talents of two THS senior students have been recognised in this year’s Rotary Young Artist competition.
The annual creative challenge organised by Rotary Great Britain and Ireland provides an opportunity for young artists across the UK to showcase a two-dimensional piece of art and their theme this year was ‘sunset and sunrise’.
Accomplished artist and Year 8 student, Heidi Duff won the local heat for the second year running. She went through to the district heat where she took second place, and progressed all the way to the national stages. Lucas, Stanton, also in Year 8, received a ceritificate of merit in the intermediate section – judges awarding marks on technical merit, content and composition, imagination and style.
Thorpe Hall was delighted to welcome Rotary Club representative, Jane Ladner into school to present both students with their awards.
