Thorpe Hall School is shortlisted for the Times Educational Supplement (Tes) Wellbeing Initiative of The Year 2020 Award for its groundbreaking Girls on Board approach.
Girls on Board is an approach developed by Thorpe Hall’s previous Headteacher, Andrew Hampton to help girls between the ages of 8 and 18, their parents and their teachers to better understand the complexities and dynamics of girl friendships.
The language, methods and ideas empower girls to solve their own friendship problems and recognises that they are usually the only ones who can. With training and support from Andrew Hampton, hundreds of schools across the UK are now helping thousands with the Girls on Board approach.
