Thorpe Hall School ranked in the Sunday Times Top 100 UK Preparatory Schools tables in 2019 – for the fifth year running.
The Sunday Times League Tables rank Preparatory Schools from across the country on their performance in standard assessment tests (Sats). They report on the average scaled scores achieved by children in three areas – reading, GPS (grammar, punctuation and spelling) and mathematics – and the outcomes are aggregated. Average scores are awarded to schools in the range of 8 up to 120, with 100 representing the expected standard children should achieve by the end of year 6. A score of 110 or above. in any of the three measures indicates children are working at a ‘higher’ level of attainment.
The 2019 league tables take their results from the Department for Education using the Freedom of Information Act. There is no legal requirement for independent schools to enter their children for Sats, and the Sunday Times ranking features only those that do.
