Welcome to Thorpe Hall School

A message from Headteacher, Andrew Hampton.

Thorpe Hall School is a non-selective, co-educational, independent day school with small class sizes, excellent facilities, and outstanding results at Key Stage 2, at 11+ and at GCSE.

Our pupils have a happy and positive school life, rich in variety. There is a wealth of opportunity for them to be challenged, supported and successful. We place emphasis on teaching pupils how to learn and how to develop the skills they need to become life-long learners so that, wherever life takes them, they can always be the best they can be.

Founded in 1925, Thorpe Hall is a forward-thinking school with the traditional values of hard work, respect, and good manners. We are a modern, child-centred setting with an outstanding record in educating children for their next stage in life.

In 2014 we received a glowing report from the Independent School’s Inspectorate. You can view our summary document or a full copy of the report.

Thorpe Hall School has charitable status and is not-for-profit. All financial surpluses are therefore available to re-invest in the school and its pupils. We use state-of-the-art information technology to accelerate learning and increase pupil engagement in education. Thorpe Hall was recognised with an Independent Schools Association Excellence Award for innovative uses of ICT to support learning. It was also nominated for the prestigious ‘Senior Leadership Team of the Year Award’ by the Independent Schools Magazine.

If you would like to see Thorpe Hall School for yourself, please ring the office and ask for an appointment to see me or to see Amanda Leslie, our Head of Lower School  – we will be delighted to meet you and show you around this exceptional school.
