Welcome to Thorpe Hall School
A message from Headteacher, Andrew Hampton.
Our pupils have a happy and positive school life, rich in variety and with a wealth of opportunity for them to be challenged, supported, and successful. We place emphasis on teaching pupils how to learn and how to develop the skills they need to become life-long learners so that, wherever life takes them, they can always be the best they can be.
Founded in 1925, Thorpe Hall is a forward-thinking school with the traditional values of hard work, respect, and good manners. We are a modern, child-centered setting with an outstanding record in educating children for their next stage in life.
The school has been recognised by the Independent Schools Association for Excellence & Innovation in Senior Provision, Excellence & Innovation in Early Years and for Innovative Use of ICT to support learning. The Sunday Times has ranked Thorpe Hall among the top 100 Prep Schools in the UK for the last four years and Thorpe Hall was on the Tes Wellbeing Initiative of The Year award shortlist in 2019 and 2020 for Girls on Board. In 2021, Thorpe Hall won The Times Educational Supplement Independent Schools Award for The Community Initiative of the Year and the Senior School was Highly Commended for the overall quality of its provision.
Thorpe Hall has charitable status and is not-for-profit. This means all financial surpluses are available to re-invest in the school and its pupils and enabling us to provide exceptional facilities including a professionally equipped Theatre, state-of the-art Art Loft and a £2m Sports and Events Centre.
If you would like to see the school for yourself, please contact the office and ask for an appointment to see me – or to see Mrs Peterson or Mr Ramdin our Co-Heads of our Lower School. We will be delighted to meet you and show you around.
