A very warm welcome to our supportive and successful school – where happy children, inspiring teachers and very small class sizes combine to create a vibrant, engaging, friendly and nurturing environment for your children.
Thorpe Hall School is a non-selective, co-educational, independent day school for boys and girls from Nursery to GCSE.
As a fully inclusive, co-educational school, we are proud to celebrate our students’ excellent all-round achievements, and the enormous value we add to their learning, from Nursery to GCSE.
We challenge our pupils to outperform, whatever their ability. We seek out individual talents and actively encourage the best in everyone. At Thorpe Hall School, all students are motivated to enjoy a myriad of new and exciting opportunities and experiences. We pride ourselves on the individual attention we offer every child, whatever their age and whatever their needs.
Our mission is clear, our promise secure, and our commitment is genuine and unwavering. We are a school that listens, and every child’s voice is heard. Our open-door approach helps foster a refreshingly honest, active and forward-thinking school community.
This website will give you a first glimpse of the Thorpe Hall adventure, but the School is best experienced in person. You are most welcome to visit us for a tour of our School and a chat with our team.
We look forward to meeting your family.

Friday fun - a throwback to this super cute video of our Year 2 pupils performing at an Infant Music Festival!
Our Year 2 pupils took part in an Infant Music Festival in March at Kings Road United Reformed Church in Westcliff. The children performed three songs to the audience and played accompanying instruments – including the kazoo! Well done to all involved.

Reception and Year 2 pupils enjoyed a celebration of dance yesterday at the Borough Dance Festival at Alleyn Court Prep School.
The Festival featured routines from seven schools, all performed on an outdoor stage in the glorious sunshine. It was a real showcase of talent, hard work, choreography and, most importantly, the sheer joy that comes through music and dance. The children all worked so hard and were an absolute credit to our school.
Thank you for hosting Alleyn Court Prep School!

In March, Thorpe Hall School were proud to host a Speech Festival with Felsted School. Students in Years 5-8 took part in the event which celebrated World Speech Day.
Each year group had set topics derived from the United Nations set of Global Goals.
Year 10 students introduced each topic of: Life Below Water, End Poverty, Climate Action and Quality Education.
Each student performed a two minute speech to a panel of judges including Thorpe Hall School Headteacher Stephen Duckitt, Felsted School Head of Prep Miranda Norris, and Vivienne Cunningham, Former Head of Drama at Thorpe Hall School and the Cunningham Theatre's namesake!
After much deliberation the judges awarded prizes in each Year group and an overall winner. Congratulations to Thorpe Hall School student Sophie, in Year 7, who won the Overall Winner prize by unanimous decision.
